Anthropic has expanded Claude with two new features: Dashboards answers questions in plain language directly from connected data sources and keeps results automatically current, while Motion turns ideas into animated explainer videos that emerge as editable code. Both launch in beta.

Quick Data Answers Without Tickets

Claude Dashboards connects to data platforms such as Amazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks and Snowflake, plus connectors like Salesforce. Users ask in plain language, Claude pulls the answer, builds the dashboard and keeps it current as data changes. The feature targets fast, exploratory questions, like how this week's signups compare to last month.

Transparency is built in: clicking any number reveals the underlying query, Claude can explain it on request, and every chart shows when its data was last updated. For deeper analysis, dashboards can be handed directly to BI and analytics tools like Amplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog or Sigma. Anthropic says connectors for Databricks Genie, Looker, monday.com and Tableau will follow shortly.

Explainer Videos From a Prompt

With Claude Motion, a quarterly report becomes a 30-second explainer video for an all-hands meeting, charts animate inside board presentations, or product walkthroughs support customer onboarding. The animation grows from the prompt and runs like a short video. Users can adjust it in the editor, ask Claude to change it and download it as an MP4 file.

Editable Code, Not Generated Footage

Unlike video generation models, Claude Code animates text, charts, shapes and images. Every word, number and timing stays editable, so videos contain no generated footage and no AI-produced people, only a company's own content. Further editing is possible in Adobe, Descript, HeyGen, Higgsfield, invideo, Luma AI or Runway, with Canva and Captions to follow.

Docs, Slides and Design Leave Beta

Docs, Slides and Design have left beta and are available in every plan, including the Free plan. Users have created more than 45 million such artifacts since launch. New capabilities include team co-editing, exports that preserve formatting, and sharing with people outside the company. The standalone design site claude.ai/design stays reachable until December 14, after which design systems migrate through the artifacts page.

Availability

Claude Dashboards is available in paid plans as a beta, Motion for Team and Enterprise customers. For enterprise administrators, both features are disabled by default and can be enabled in the organization settings under artifacts. Docs, Slides and Design turn on automatically in companies on October 15. Anthropic suggests starting with simple prompts like creating a dashboard of this quarter's revenue by region.

Both features launch in beta, and all details come from Anthropic's own announcement, so figures like the 45 million artifacts count as vendor numbers without independent confirmation. How well Dashboards handles real enterprise data, and whether Motion videos survive everyday presentation workflows, remains to be seen in practice.
